Web developer in Chandannagar — proof for a buyer who's never here
A committee in another state can't walk into your workshop, so it books from what it can see on a screen. That screen is what I build for you as a web developer in Chandannagar. It has to answer an organiser's questions without you there: how big, how reliable, and whether the date is free.
Overview
Built for the committee that books
A lighting business website is mostly portfolio. So it opens with past work, written up job by job.
Chandannagar's other trade is the riverside mix, and that's a different job. A shop or a service by the river needs a smaller, plainer site, with no portfolio at all. It has to say where you are and how to reach you, and very little else besides.
Committees rarely decide alone. Whatever the organiser finds gets forwarded to everyone else on the committee, read on their own phones, and it has to make sense without the organiser there to explain it.

What a scope from me looks like
How does the scope get fixed?
Included
- A written scope: every page and feature as its own line, agreed before work starts
- Design to build, reviewed on a staging URL that stays open the whole project
- Mobile first — checked on a real phone
- Domain, hosting and every account created in your name from day one
- A portfolio section with one write-up per installation
- Basic on-page SEO: titles, descriptions, headings, sitemap, Search Console connected
- A runbook at handover: how to edit it, what renews and when
Phase two
- A booking form tied to specific event dates
- A second, smaller site for the riverside retail side, if it's a separate business
- Ongoing SEO once the site has traffic to read
- A maintenance plan once the site is live
- Logo and brand design, quoted separately from the build
Not doing
- Guaranteed rankings
What moves the number
What changes the cost?
These are the rows that change the job. Each other line of a scope is priced the way the quote breakdown explains.
| What changes it | Why |
|---|---|
| Booking against fixed dates | a form tied to the event date, or a simple enquiry |
| Video | whether any past installation has footage worth putting beside the photographs |
| How the portfolio is sorted | by year, by size or by the kind of event |
| Captions | written from your own job records, so every line can be checked |

What gets built here
What leads the home page
The order these sit in on the home page.
- 01Scale of past work, shown in photographs — the size and complexity of what's already been delivered. A close-up of the wiring or rigging counts for less here than a wide shot showing the full scale against something recognisable.
- 02Delivery dates, stated as a record — each installation with the date it went up. The dates come from your own books, so nothing gets rounded in your favour.
- 03A way to enquire against a fixed date — the organiser's event date goes in the first field of the form, because that date won't move. A phone number and WhatsApp sit beside it for anyone who'd rather talk first.
Where this comes from
Past sites, open to anyone
Open the projects page and judge the work the way an organiser would judge yours. It's drawn from 900+ projects completed over 9+ years. On your own site, the domain and hosting are registered to you from the first day, and every photograph stays yours.

FAQ
For the workshop and the shop
Some for contractors, some for the shop side.
Our buyers are in other states. What changes on the site?
- The workshop address moves down the page, and the finished work moves up. Each installation can also name the event it was built for, if you're free to say so.
Can the site show work we've done outside Bengal?
- Yes. Each job can name the city or state it went up in, if you're free to say so, which tells a committee far away that distance hasn't stopped you before.
We only have phone photographs of most jobs. Is that enough?
- It can be. Phone pictures that are sharp and taken in good light go up as they are, and the scope notes which jobs need better ones. A job with no usable picture waits until one turns up.
Some of our clients don't want their name used. Can those jobs still go up?
- Yes. A write-up can describe the job without naming who booked it, using the kind of event, the structure and the year instead. You decide job by job which names appear, and I never add one you haven't cleared.
We also run a shop in town. Does that need the same site?
- No. A shop in town needs a far smaller site, with no portfolio to build, and it's quoted separately from the lighting work. If both businesses share a name, the two sites link to each other so a visitor can cross over.
