Freelance SEO consultant: a plan that names every fix
Search Console, your site's code and your team's time are the three things my SEO consulting works with.
- Technical SEO audit: crawl, indexing, speed, structured data, redirects
- Keyword map: what your customers type, matched to the pages you have and lack
- The plan: fixes in order of effect, new pages in order of opportunity — written
- A read-through on a call, so your team knows why each line is there
- Search Console and rank tracking set up in your name
- Monthly: what moved, what to do next — one page
- 9+ years
- building for the web, since 2017
Try it
Where you are for what you sell — and what moves it.
A results page for “electrician near me”, with you ninth. Tick the work in the order it's done and watch the entry move. The positions are a drawing, but the order of the work is the real one.

Overview
What a freelance SEO consultant does for your site
A freelance SEO consultant reads your site the way Google does, then tells your team what to do in an order they can follow. I start with the audit, crawling the site and reading it alongside Search Console for indexing, speed and structured data (the code that labels each page for Google). Then I measure your pages against the searches you want and write the plan in plain words, with the work ranked by effect and the missing pages named. Every month after that, I check in Search Console whether any of it moved.
I build websites for a living, and that shapes the advice. The audit and tracking tools come from DevsKing, the SEO tool company I founded in 2026.
Your team does the work. I check it.
- Indexing: which pages Google has, and which it's skipped
- Speed: the image, script or plugin holding each page back
- Rank tracking in Google and in AI answers
- Structured data: the markup each type of page needs

- Keyword map: what your customers type, matched to the pages you have and lack
- The plan: fixes in order of effect, new pages in order of opportunity — written
- A read-through on a call, so your team knows why each line is there

Phase two
- Fixes made by my developers, each as its own line
- Pages written by my team from the plan
- Local SEO: Google Business Profile, listings, location pages
Not doing
- Guaranteed rankings
- Bought links
Here's a first scope as it's written for a site your own team runs. You'll have each line in writing before the work starts.
The plan is yours to keep, and it'll make sense to whoever makes the changes.
Process
How SEO consulting runs
Six steps, and the first one is a conversation.
- 01
The call
What you sell, where, who buys, and what they'd type to find you. Then whether the site can rank yet, and if it can't, what comes first.- You
- Tell me what you sell and bring the free checker's result.
- Get
- A clear answer, and what the audit covers
- 02
The audit, read together
The full audit — crawl, indexing, speed, structured data and the competition on your searches — read through with you on a call.- You
- Search Console and analytics access, and time for the read-through.
- Get
- An audit you understand, with your questions answered
- 03
The plan, in writing
Fixes ranked by effect and pages ranked by opportunity, each with a note on how it's done.- You
- Decide who on your side does what.
- Get
- The plan, written, readable
- 04
Your team executes
Your developer, your writer or your marketing partner does the work — or my team does, where you'd like. I answer questions on the shared thread.- You
- Do the fixes; write the pages; ask when stuck.
- Get
- Work that follows the plan
- 05
I check the work
I re-crawl, re-check indexing, read the changed pages, and confirm Google's picked them up.- You
- Tell me what's done.
- Get
- A checked list — done, half-done, missed
- 06ongoing
Monthly, with the numbers
What moved in Search Console and what's next, on one readable page. You can stop whenever the plan is finished.- You
- Send what your team did.
- Get
- A page you can act on
- The callboth
- The audit, read together
- The plan, in writing
- Your team executes
- I check the work
- Monthly, with the numbersboth
Tech stack
What the advice is built on
Google's own data first, then the audit tools, then a developer's reading of the code.
| CRITERION | What I use | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Truth | Google Search Console | What Google shows, and what people click |
| Audit | Site audit tool; the free SEO checker | Each issue, weighted by its effect |
| Keywords | Keyword research; Search Console's own queries | What people type, matched to your pages |
| Tracking | Rank tracking and AI visibility (ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity) | Where you show, in Google and in AI answers |
| The fix | A developer's read of the theme, the plugins and the code | Each finding comes with the line to change |
| The report | One page a month, in plain words | Readable by an owner, usable by a team |

Why it matters
Why a developer writes the plan
A finding helps your team when it arrives with its fix. "Improve Core Web Vitals" becomes "resize this hero image, defer this script, replace this plugin", in the order that moves the number most. I've built websites for 9+ years, so I read the theme and the plugins before I write a line of the plan.
Then the numbers decide what's next. Search Console shows, page by page, whether a change moved anything. When a page hasn't moved, I'll rewrite its line in the plan.
Every line names the file, the plugin or the page it touches, so whoever picks it up knows where to start.
- Fixes named down to the file or the plugin
- A line rewritten when its page doesn't move
- Google's own numbers as the measure
What the research says
Four published figures on speed, trust and checkouts
Speed, trust and checkout figures, each from a separate published study.
These figures are other people’s research, quoted as published. Your own site’s numbers come from the free checks and the audit.
Developers on hand for the code fixes
When a line in the plan needs code, a developer on my team can take it. Your team takes the lines it can, mine takes the rest, and each is quoted separately.
Case study
Who the SEO work has been for
Daly Middle East, an industrial supplier in the UAE, completed three SEO engagements in 2025 and agreed to be named. Six builds on this site carry the SEO tag too — Activus Energy Advisors, Go Cleaning Brisbane, Green Rhino Restorations, Hanna Tax and Business, IMX Maintenance and Dr Adrienne Little — each launched SEO-ready.
The work comes from my team: three developers, a designer and three SEO specialists in the Kolkata, India office, plus around six people working remotely.
Client feedback
What clients say
- ★★★★★
“This seller was AMAZING! He was very quick to answer my questions and to make changes to my site. The website is beautiful and he did a fantastic job. Highly recommended and will use him again for sure!”
When the first fixes are live
Google picks up the changes, and you can see which ones counted
The missing pages exist now, and the slow ones draw quickly on a phone. When a change needs code, a developer at the next desk makes it. Search Console shows which pages are drawing clicks, and you'll know which line of the plan to take on next.

Pricing
How SEO consulting is priced
The audit and the plan happen once. The check happens monthly. Both are written as lines before the work starts, and the monthly line stops when the plan is done or when you choose.
The fixes are ranked by effect, so the first lines your team takes on are the ones that'll count most.
How the lines add up is set out on the quote page, and the SEO services page covers the done-for-you version.
- Audit + plan: one line, once
- Monthly check: one line, stop any time
- Execution: your team — or mine, quoted separately
Next step
Get a first read on your site
Run the free SEO checker before we speak and keep the result open. On the call we'll read it together and work out what's worth fixing first.
When should I hire an SEO consultant, and when the done-for-you service?
- Hire an SEO consultant when your team has people to do the work and wants direction: the read, the plan and the monthly check, from the same person throughout. When you'd rather your team stayed on other work, my team's done-for-you SEO services carry the whole job instead.
Do I need a technical SEO consultant or a content writer first?
- A technical SEO consultant comes first when Google can't read the site properly — slow pages, broken redirects, missing structured data, pages it can't find. Content writing comes first when the site reads well and the pages your customers search for don't exist yet. The audit shows which one your site needs, and the plan puts both in order.
How do you charge for SEO consulting services?
- SEO consulting services are priced as two lines written before the work starts: the audit and the plan, once, and the monthly check against Search Console, stopped whenever you like. Execution by my team is quoted separately when the plan names it, and you'll find how each line becomes a figure on the quote page.
Can you guarantee rankings as an SEO consultant?
- Rankings are Google's decision, so the guarantee an SEO consultant can give is about the work: a full read of what's broken and what's missing, a plan ranked by effect, and Search Console to show what each change did.
Is an SEO consultant for small business worth it?
- An SEO consultant for a small business is worth it when the site already brings in some enquiries and you want more of them from search. The plan names the handful of fixes and pages that matter most for a site that size, so a small team can work through it one line at a time.
Do you offer SEO consulting as an SEO consultant in India for clients abroad?
- SEO consulting is run from Kolkata, India, for clients abroad: the SEO client named on record is in the UAE, and my team has completed 600+ projects for US clients. The team works on your schedule, in your time zone. The audit is read together on a call, and the plan lives in a shared document you can both edit.
